           Death wants to go to a Party: A Bored to Death Halloween Special

   "Hey Bored, the neighbors are throwing a Halloween party tonight, do you want to go?"  Death came home after work unusually cheerful.  Normally he'd walk in half asleep, grouch about Lucifer, his boss, and then take a nap for several hours before getting up and playing some video games. Today was different; Death had a vibrancy about him that seemed too good to be true. "No, it sounds boring," said Death's roommate Cole, whom every one called Bored because he thought everything was boring.  He was slouched in the lazy boy chair, and all Death could see of him was the bright red birds nest that he called hair.  Death walked past the living room while still continuing the conversation. "Oh come on Bored, it will be fun, you know it will." "Can I come? I love Halloween parties," said a woman's voice, so cool, so menacing, that it sent shivers down Death's spine every time he heard it. "No Shevira, you'll probably scare half the guest away. Remember last year when I tried to through a party?"  "Aw come on Deathy," said Shevira "Isn't scaring folks what Halloween is all about?" Death despised being called nicknames, especially by Shevira. "I said no, and besides how are you going to get there? You're a mirror remember, and I'm not going to carry you." Shevira glared at Death, "What are you saying, that I'm fat or something?" "No, I'm not saying you're fat, you're an inanimate object how can you be fat?" "Oh, so now you're being racist," said Shevira with spite.  "What in the dominion! How am I being racist, sigh, fine I'll go by myself." "Now, what should my costume be?" "You're the Grim Reaper right," said Bored, "Why don't you just go as yourself?"    "I'm not going as myself, the Grim Reaper is too cliché." Shevira snickers in the back ground. Death glares at her, but she just looks away without saying anything. "Besides, Halloween is all about pretending to be someone ells, to be something that you're not." Death spends several   minutes debating over his options. "Shevira, can you help me out here?" "Not until you apologize," she replied.  She had a pouty look on her face and if she had arms she would be crossing them. Death lets out a long sigh. "Oh come on this again?" Looking appalled Shevira replied, "I have very sensitive feelings that bruise easily."  "Shevira you were once the mirror of Hades himself, you cured Narcissus of his self obsession, you are one of the toughest broads I've ever met; you're like the opposite of sensitive." Death was completely oblivious of the hole he just dug.  "How dare you," scolded Shevira, "tough women have feelings too, we're not just cold hearted shells." Death turned to Bored, who had developed quite the friendship with Shevira. "Hey Bored can you help me out here?" "She has a point bro," he replied.  Death turns back and faces Shevira. "Sigh, look I'm sorry for calling you fat and saying discriminating things about you." Shevira looks at him, then looks away, acts like she's thinking things over for about a minute, and then says, "Apology accepted, and I think you should go as a clown." Death stood there blankly, "Why a clown?" "Because," she replied, "your job is so grim the word is even in the title, clowns are the opposite of grim, so it would make a good costume for you." "You know you're right, that makes a lot of sense, thank you Shevira." With a burst of energy, Death throws together a clown costume, thanks Shevira again, and heads out the door. "We're you serious, when you said that a clown was the best costume for him?" asked Bored. "Nope," said Shevira with a big smile on her face, "I can't wait to see his reaction when he gets home."
